5 Ways to Anger Your Tattoo Artist

1. Being Cheap - Tattoos are relatively inexpensive considering how long they last, never compromise on the integrity of your art work for money. No tattoo artist can respect a client that keeps changing there design simply to get a cheaper price. Asking to make to the design smaller or less detailed will generally anger most tattoo artist.

2. Making Inappropriate Jokes - Your local artist has heard all the same tattoo jokes you have, yes even the one about the $100 bill tattoo the husband got. Inappropriate jokes about bodily functions often wear an artist's nerves thin. Imagine doing your job while someone makes rude remarks over your shoulder.

3. Talking / Moving - Conversation is nice, but often people will use over talking and chatter as a way to defer the pain of a tattoo i.e. while they are talking the tattoo artist must stop which gives them a break. But this only prolongs the tattoo process and thus the pain. Excessive moving is similar in that while a person is moving around the tattooist has no choice but to stop.

4. Getting Political - As a general rule tattoo artist do not want to talk politics and most tattoo shops are no place to get political. It matters little what your political beliefs are, there will be opposition to talk of any thing political. politics are an outside issue like religion not to be overly discussed in a tattoo shop.

5. Insult Their Occupation - There's nothing worse than a customer who tells there artist what little respect they have for their occupation. They will say something to the effect of "cool, you draw pictures for a living" implying that being a tattoo artist is similar to being a child who doodles their day away. Leave the insults at home and treat your tattoo artist like a businessman.
